U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Town 1/15-1/24

The 2016 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships begin today in St. Paul and run through Sunday, 1/24. Over the course of the next week and a half, skaters will compete in women’s, men’s, pairs, and ice dancing. This national championship, now in its 102nd year, includes several special events:

  • Free ice skating lessons at the Wells Fargo WinterSkate adjacent to Rice Park. Sponsored by Cub Foods.
    Saturday, 1/16 and Saturday, 1/23: 11 AM-12 PM
  • Opening Ceremony & Ladies Short Program. The opening ceremony features 80 local skaters and Ashley Wagner skating to live music from the Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus.
    Thursday, January 21: 7:30 PM
  • The Smucker’s Skating Spectacular
    Sunday, January 24: 7 PM

The 2016 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships take place at Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul.
