From 2008-2015, the series won no less than 2 Geisel Awards (named after the Dr. Seuss author) and 4 Geisel Honors, while also earning 3 Caldecott Honors and 3 Carnegie Medals. As the prolific Willems continues to pen installments, the series seems poised to accrue plenty more – and not just for books. Riffing off the laconically named We Are in a Book!, the Children’s Theatre Company brought this series to the stage last week with a theatrical adaptation entitled Elephant & Piggie’s We Are in a Play!
