NEWS: The 25th Annual Sally Ordway Irvine Award Recipients Arts Theatre by Twin Cities Arts Reader - August 23, 2017 The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts announced today the recipients of the 25th annual Sally Ordway Irvine Awards. These awards were given in five categories to recipients from across the State of Minnesota. This year’s recipients are all based in the Twin Cities metro area: Hunter Gullickson (Arts Access) J. Otis Powell (Commitment) Z Puppets Rosenschnoz (Education) Bee Yang (Initiative) Rhiana Yazzie (Vision) Hunter Gullickson is the Accessibility Manager at the Guthrie Theater and a founding member of the MN Access Alliance. J. Otis Powell is an author and performance artist, and was a founding curator for the Bridges performance arts program at Pangea World Theater. Z Puppets Rosenschnoz (whose name translates as “The Red-Nosed Puppets”) is a touring puppet theatre. Bee Yang, a Hmong singer and poet, was the inspiration for the award-winning book The Song Poet. Rhiana Yazzie, a Navajo playwright and filmmaker, has held multiple affiliations with the Playwrights’ Center and is the artistic director of New Native Theatre.
