BREAKING NEWS: Ordway CEO Jamie Grant to Depart for Palm Desert

When fall comes, Jamie Grant will be in the desert. You might even say that he’s going to Coachella, although not to the festival of that name.

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts announced today that its President and CEO Jamie Grant will be leaving August 31. Grant will take over the reins at McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, California. The McCallum is just a 15-minute drive down the street from the grounds of the storied Coachella Festival; both are located in California’s Coachella Valley.

Grant arrived at the Ordway in 2016, during a period of growth including stepped up programming facilitated by the Arts Partnership’s new Concert Hall opening. Some of the challenges addressed during his tenure have included major leadership transitions, large-scale shifts in corporate giving, and the COVID-19 crisis.

“We are immensely grateful to Jamie for his service to the Ordway and the arts community in Minnesota,” said Bill Parker, the chair of the Ordway’s Board of Directors. “His work to strengthen relationships with the members of the Arts Partnership and increase the scope and scale of Ordway programming will have lasting benefit to this organization and the city of Saint Paul”.

The Ordway will conduct a national search for Grant’s replacement. Grant will assist with the transition through August 31. Christine Sagstetter, the Ordway’s Executive Vice President and its CFO for 27 years, will serve as Interim President.
