BREAKING NEWS: COVID-19 Cancels Remaining Summer: The Donna Summer Musical Performances

The cast of the national touring company of Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, whose run at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in Saint Paul, MN has been interrupted due to COVID-19.

As the Queen of Disco, Donna Summer smashed records and amassed an impressive 42 Top 40 hits, but even she took anan occasional intermission. So, too, has it become true with the national tour of Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, which has closed early at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts due to COVID-19 cases in the touring company.

As a result of this abundant caution, the scheduled performances on Dec. 31, Jan.1 and Jan. 2 will no longer take place. Guests who purchased tickets for these performances should contact the Ordway ticket office at 651-224-4222 to request a refund or to receive credits for a future show.

The Ordway’s two remaining Broadway @ the Ordway shows, An Officer and a Gentleman (Jan. 20-23) and Waitress (March 8-13), remain scheduled. Cancellations due to breakthrough COVID-19 cases have brought early closes to shows such as the Guthrie Theater’s A Christmas Carol, as well as more temporary breaks to Broadway shows such as Six!, Hamilton, The Music Man, and Moulin Rouge.

Current plans and scheduling for The Ordway’s two remaining Broadway @ the Ordway shows, An Officer and a Gentleman (Jan. 20-23) and Waitress (March 8-13), remain as previously scheduled.
