PREVIEW: 2016 Concerts at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres has announced the first half of its 2016 Concert Series. These performances take place at The Fireside Stage and are curated by CDT’s Tamara Kangas Erickson. Most are organized around the music of a particular band or musician; theatergoers who didn’t get enough of Beautiful while it was in town can catch more of Carole King’s music in two inaugural performances in January.

The series, now in its 4th year, has injected new life into the busy theatre complex; its success has led Chanhassen to invest in a new, state-of-the-art sound system to support the concerts.

The concert lineup is as follows:

  • Friday, 1/15/16 and Saturday, 1/16/16: The Music of Carole King, Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon
  • Thursday, 1/21/16: Gary Rue’s Only Love Can Break a Heart – The Music of Gene Pitney
  • Saturday, 1/23/16: Beat Boom! Radio: British Invasion Music
  • Friday, 2/5/16 and Saturday, 2/6/16: Guilty Pleasures, presented by the Fabulous Armadillos
  • Friday, 2/12/16; Saturday, 2/13/16; Sunday, 2/14/16: A Night Full of Wonder – Stevie Wonder Tribute
  • Friday, 2/19/16; Saturday, 2/20/16: Running On Empty – A Tribute to Jackson Browne
  • Thursday, 3/3/16; Friday, 3/4/16; Saturday, 3/5/16: Takin’ it to The Limit – A Tribute to The Eagles
  • Friday, 3/11/16: 100 Years of Sinatra, featuring the Andrew Walesch Big Band
  • Saturday, 3/12/16: Hallelujah We Love Him So – A Night of Ray Charles
  • Friday, 3/18/16; Saturday, 3/19/16: Tim Mahoney Plays U2
  • Friday, 4/1/16; Saturday, 4/2/16: Jeff Dayton Salutes Glen Campbell
