BREAKING NEWS: The Jungle Theater Announces Programming Pause

An announcement posted to social media by the Jungle Theater’s leadership team.
In a statement this afternoon, the Jungle Theater in Minneapolis announced that the storied arts organization would be temporarily pausing its programming for financial reasons. As noted in a post on social media,
To Our Jungle Community,
We have made the difficult decision to temporarily pause programming for the remainder of our 2025-26 Season in order to create the conditions for long-term sustainability.
Like many arts organizations across the country, the Jungle Theater—along with its audience, community, and donors—is navigating significant financial headwinds.
This pause allows the organization to step back from production, assess our options, and plan for the future, rather than continue in ways that could compromise our mission or impact.
While our stage may be quiet this season, we are not closing our doors. Our leadership and board remain committed to the vital work of reimagining our future and protecting our continued positive impact. This moment is about care, stewardship, and responsibility – ensuring that when the Jungle returns, it does so with the foundation needed to serve artists and audiences well for years to come.
The Jungle Theater will share updates with its community as planning progresses and will be reaching out to subscribers and other ticketholders to share options and information in the coming weeks.
In solidarity,
Christina and Rachel
The company, founded in 1991 by Bain Boehlke, has long been a cornerstone institution in Minneapolis’s Lyn-Lake neighborhood, drawing patrons to daring and innovative shows as well as to area restaurants and bars.
