The musical Diary of a Wimpy Kid is proving to be not at all wimpy at the box office. The Children’s Theatre Company announced today a one-week extension to the run of its hot new musical, an adaptation of the best-selling book series by Jeff Kinney. The show, which features a book by Kevin Del Aguila and music and lyrics by Michael Mahler and Alan Schmuckler, opened on April 15. It was originally scheduled for 3 previews and 48 regular performances. The extension adds an additional week and 6 performances to the show’s run, which will now conclude on June 12.
